To change your phone number on Coinbase, you need to navigate to the “Coinbase Account Recovery” page.
To do so, you need to tap on the “I have a new phone number” link while you’re on the 2-factor authentication page.
The “Coinbase Account Recovery” page allows you to reset your phone number if you’ve lost access to it.
Hence, before you change your phone number, it’s best to disable the 2-factor authentication for every app first.
But if you didn’t disable it, you’ll have to use the account recovery on Coinbase.
The process is straightforward as you’re only required to enter your old phone number, new phone number, and enter a verification code.
Then, your phone number will be changed, and you’ll be able to receive verification codes from it.
Here’s how you can change your phone number on Coinbase:
1. Open the Coinbase app & sign in
Firstly,
open the Coinbase app on your mobile device.
You can also use Coinbase on a desktop for this.

Once you’re on the Coinbase app, tap on “Sign in”.
Then, enter your email and password.
Next, tap on “Sign in” again to sign in to your Coinbase account.
2. Tap on “I have a new phone number”
After you’ve tapped on “Sign in”, you’ll land on the
2-step verification page.
On this page, you’re required to enter a 7-digit code that is sent to your phone number.
If you’ve lost access to your phone number, you won’t be able to view the code.
Since you lost access to your phone number, you need to change it on Coinbase.
Under the 7-digit code field, you’ll see a link that says “I have a new phone number”.
Tap on “I have a new phone number” to proceed to recover your Coinbase account.
3. Sign in to Coinbase Account Recovery
After you’ve tapped on “I have a new phone number”, you’ll land on the sign-in page of Coinbase.
This time, you need to sign in to Coinbase on your browser.
The link that you tapped has directed you to the recovery page of Coinbase.
Before you can recover your account, you need to enter your login details.
Enter your email, password, and tap on “Sign in”.
This time, you won’t be required to complete a 2-factor authentication.
Instead, you’ll land on a page where you can recover your Coinbase account.
4. Tap on “Phone number”
After you’ve signed in, you’ll land on the “Coinbase Account Recover” page.

This phone number should be your old phone number or the phone number that you’ve lost access to.
Secondly, choose your country on the “Choose a country” field.
This will be used for your new phone number (e.g. +65).
Thirdly, enter the phone number that you want to change to on the “New phone number” field.
Make sure that the country code is correct.
Lastly, tap on “Continue” to proceed to the next step.
6. Enter the verification code
After you’ve tapped on continue, you’ll need to verify your phone number by entering a verification code.
A verification code will be sent to your new phone number.
Check the messages on your phone for the verification code.
Then, enter the verification code and tap on “Verify” to verify it.
If you haven’t received the verification code, you can tap on “Re-send SMS” to re-send the code.
